Painting my girls, another planet preview!!!

Hey guys its Ian and i finally got some paints so im so happy yay :D but anyways for the photo who do you think would win that predicament? Banshees? Or Dante? I personally think its soo my sissy marine. So i will try to get as much stuff painted when i can and ill end up working on some other things. I just need to get some black primer eventually...Also i think both Sean and I should be at the store on Friday and Saturday, so stop by if you can any of those days and we can play!

Also i thought today you, the reader would like another preview of another planet for our next campaign, eventually we will go through all the planets and i would absolutely LOVE some feedback from you guys! Anyways, here's the planet!

Dis, a planet whose atmosphere blocks the blue sky, Rain that pours off and on all the time, The clouds themselves denys the earth sunlight and shrouds the planet in an everlasting darkness. Night fight rules occurs throughout the game, During turns 3-end everything counts as difficult terrain (heavy rain occurs) Defenders: gain the acute senses, and benefit from the stealth u.s.r's. Attackers: your firestorm now counts as AP 1, all units gain a 3 d6 difficult terrain test (takes 2 highest rolls and can move that many inches). I would like to rename the planets though, so if you have an idea for a planet name for either this or last weeks planet, post it in the comments below!

That is all i have for this week, please comment (i love comments) cause feedback is awesome, Im Ian McCarson and i hope you got your fill of 40k madness.

New scheduele, planet prevew, new models!!!!!

Hey guys its Ian! This week we are beginning to play Friday instead of Sat for two reasons, 1: we can get more people playing on Friday and in the neer future some people will not be able to make it to Saturdays. 2: expanding to more than the normal 4 players we have, to 6 or 7. So that will be an improvement. i would like to start around the same time.

In other news GW is releasing new models, such as a squad of 3 killa kans, the new deff dread, a plastic venerable dreadnaught, and a new expansion called Battle missions. The killa kans look awesome in my opinion, the deff dread...mmmm not too hot. The new plastic venerable dreadnaught looks good, better than the old venerable dread. The new expansion, battle missions, includes 30 missions that will allow you to play amazing missions.

Lastly since Sean and I have been coming up with planets for the new campaign we decided that we will share the planets and how their environments will effect the game play.
So with that, i am introducing our magma planet, lavage.

This volatile planet is a haven for the defenders: For the planets' intense heat has hardened their skin and they have acclimated to its heat. They gain the feel no pain rule. As the heat has made the defenders skin harden, the attackers blood boils, their anger overtakes them, they thirst for blood.

All attacker infantry gain the furious charge special ability. If a squad already has furious charge, they gain +1 to their attack instead on the charge. Unfortunately all armor values are lowered by 1, but nothing can go below 10.

On Turn 3 pillars of fire begin to engulf the field. Someone outside of your game will determine where the pillar will show up. So in order to do that the person will place a large blast marker on some point, takes 3 d6 and the scatter die, and determines where the template will end up. If it happens to go off the table the scatter die must be rerolled. If a hit is landed it still deviates 2 d6 in the direction shown on the die. here is the profile on the template : str 6 ap 4. And all vehicles that are hit by it are glanced on a 4, penetrated on a 5-6.

Anyways ill be coming back hopefully on Monday next week to bring some more news and a new planet for you to look at! And with that, Im Ian McCarson and i hope you got your fill on 40k and leave your comments below thank you for following!!!!!!!! :)

Game meetingz??? Its heracy!!!!

Hey there um today i thought i would bring up that on sat i am calling a meeting, like above, to come up with ideas to bring in more people to play as well as write up the ideas for the new campaign. Sean and I came up with the idea of having multiple planets which players can reside in and the environment of each planet effects the playing field. other than that, this is just a short post to basically say what we are doing this Saturday, so if you are by the store and want to put some input into the meeting, it would be much appreciated.

Planetstrike Beta Testing

Hey guys i wanted to post a quick thing on the planetstrike playthroughs we've been doing, and of what we will be expecting to do these upcoming weeks. First off, our first few games have been a tad rough, but we are getting the rules down. Also if you dont know the basic premise of planetstrike, its this: you have a defender and an attacker. The defender has more heavy support/troops, and the attacker has more fast attack/elite choices. The main goal in planet strike is objectives, and along with those objectives are stratagems yay. Both the attacker and defender have specific stratagems. There are even race specified stratagems. But in order to get these stratagems you must have a specific amount of objectives, and each one uses up a certain amount of points. Ex: there are 3 objectives, 2 bunkers and a fortified turret, you would have 3 stratagem points to use on 2 stratagem or one beastly one, but the same stratagem cannot be chosen twice.

And this brings me to my next subject: the upcoming weeks we will be constantly playing this expansion to get down the rules for sure. Also this weekend we will be using the stratagems. umm thats all for now and i cant think of other stuff for the time being...Oh i really want to set up a table for painting/workshopping

A Word From our Sponsors

Legends comics and games in Cupertino, the host and co-sponsor of Bay Hammer has just announced a sale on all there Games Workshop products. All GW merchandise in the store will be discounted by 10% to help sell off there excess inventory from the holiday season, that's right because some poor kid didn't get that new Tyranid battle force, or that shiny Leman Russ this holiday they are passing the savings on to you, and get this if they don't have what your looking for they will order it in for you at 15% off plus no shipping charge.

Now I know this may look like a shameless plug but the truth is that ever since BH started up the guys(and girls) at Legends have been very supportive and helped bring together the people that actually help me run this blog(when I am not around). They gave us a space to play and a little financial support as well as prizes and supplies. So if your in the area, head on over and support your local game/comic shop.

Dancing with titans

This weekend after a long standing hiatus from my regular gaming schedule I had at last manged to get in a short if not amusing game of Apocalypse in which Ian decided to play test his new eldar list against my Dark Angels and Legends recently aquired Armorcast Reaver titan. At this point I will have to say I fell in love with the old Reaver and its almost torrential ability to serve A$$ kicking on a every turn basis, but alas the titan is perhaps one of those units that is destined only to enter a fair fight if the opposing side is packing similar hardware.

The battle was fast and bloody with the Reaver (now know as Victrix Steve) immediately gimping Ian's Wave serpents and demolishing most of his squad of Hawks and lobbing a few far pot shots from the turbo laser into his garrisoned Guardians on the other side of the board. Ian will be posting the battle report as to what actually happend but for now I felt this a compelling enough reason to set aside some time and actually get back in touch with you guys, our readers and gamers in the bay and beyond.

In short I played a titan and I liked it, i liked it a lot but I realised only to soon that the unit demands a certain kind of opponent to actually feel justified while playing it. Anything less then a full armor company and any match against the Reaver can quickly become a bloodbath in under 5 turns. But if you have the money or just love the power I highly recommend it, its not a unit for everyone but with a visually dominating aspect as well as awe inspiring stat lines the titan truly is one of this games greatest pieces.

In other news:
Congratulations to Zach who won the Legends Campaign the week before last, and after some mix ups with GW over the prize finally received his much due reward after slugging his way through six weeks of Necrons,Sisters and pissed off blood angels, only to take his boyz to the top of the heap. So here is a pic of the proud warboss accepting his prize, good job freshman Zach!

If your wondering I am the one who looks like spike from buffy.

2010 Yo

Hey guys, Ian here and i wanted to say 1: happy new year, 2: the new Tyranid codex and models are coming out this month, 3: reminder of sat we are going to discuss what we can do to improve our next campaign and tourny as well as have some free play.

On the note of the tyranid's new codex/models i just would like to read some comments of what you would expect from the dex and new models (although ive seen the mawloc/trygon on forgeworld). I have been looking at the advance orders on just the models and they look even more powerful than before. Anyways that is all for now and im off to get some much needed sleep.

-Happy gaming, ian
